“Robo 1″ and “Robo 2″ Urge Students to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

By Unity Imani-ImoJah, Teacher Elementary Group

One day, we had extra boxes donated to Mountain Yard. Willow and Zoe found them and their imaginations soared. Soon, the idea of creating robots emerged. They became immersed in painting the boxes with gray paint. They were deep in conversation as they created “Robo 1″ (Willow) and “Robo 2” (Zoey). They decided that they must take their message of “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” to our students.

So, after finishing their creations, they used recycled sponge pieces to make individual characters. They then put on their robot costumes and went to Primary Group, Big Nursery/House Group and to Judy (who had a group of visitors with her), to emphasize the importance of recycling! They then gave each student a sponge character, so each student could have something to play with and remember their message simultaneously.

Thank you Willow and Zoey. Remember everyone: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!
