Annual State of the School

Annual State of the School
April 29, 2024 Jeff Smith
Board Members 2023

Play Mountain Place was founded in 1949 by Phyllis and Manny Fleishman. Phyllis believed that focusing on children was necessary for building a peaceful world. Out of this belief evolved the foundational values and practices of Play Mountain Place that have been in place for decades: our child-centered approach to learning, the implementation of our anti-bias curriculum, and our commitment to maintaining a diverse community. The role of the Board of Trustees is to safeguard these values and practices, while ensuring that our school evolves and grows in response to the needs of our families and children.

Please join us at the Annual State of the School on Thursday, May 16, 7-8 pm to meet the Board of Trustees, hear about our current work, and approve — as a community — our Board members for the coming year. We look forward to sharing with you how, as we approach our 75th anniversary, we are continuing to work toward a just and equitable world and provide for the financial stability of our school.
