Caleb Jaffe Goes to Sundance!

Exciting news! Play Mountain Place Alum Caleb Jaffe made it into the 2019 Sundance Film Festival in the Indie Episodic category amid record-high submissions! “It’s Not About Jimmy Keene,” created by and starring Caleb Jaffe and executive produced by Jim Frohna and Diana Kunce, examines the aftermath of the police shooting of an unarmed black teen.

Caleb cast current Play Mountain Place parent, and his former New Roads English Teacher Ayana Peters, as his on-screen mother. Alums Xochi Ong and Charlie Smith both participated in the production, Xochi as the Art Director and Charlie as the Assistant Editor & Data Manager. Plus, there’s a scene featuring many Play Mountain Place Alums and their parents. “It’s Not About Jimmy Keene,” was also mentioned in the Los Angeles Times on December 4, 2018 in some pretty good company. Many congratulations Caleb!
