From Judy Accardi
Dear Friends,
As I leave the position of Director, and complete my years at Play Mountain Place, I’m left with the wonder and amazement of a lifetime of doing work that I have loved with people who have become so dear to me. Right now, I’m not thinking of all the challenges, crises, tears and fears of these years. They are all behind me now.
At this point, I only want to thank all of you. In these last weeks, I have been celebrated so much in so many ways—with a surprise celebration party with the teachers and staff, with the absolutely beautiful and heartfelt web celebration with the Board and community, with so many gifts and cards, memory books, lunches, and so many special messages from parents, teachers, and the children. I can’t imagine a more loving and appreciative send-off!
I don’t think I can thank you enough times to really be sure you know what this all means to me.
How I’ve been as a leader of our community has always mattered a great deal to me. One of my favorite sayings about leadership is Lao Tzu’s quote: “To lead the people, walk behind them.”
I have learned from each one of you by watching and listening and paying attention to what you do, say, think, and feel. I hope I have been a leader you could count on to be there when you needed me to be, and be out of the way when that’s what was best for you.
I hope we continue to be in each other’s circle of friends.
And now we come to this moment of change. Working closely with Joe this year has allowed me to experience his dedication to our mission, his strength of character and his leadership. Our school is very fortunate to have someone so committed and so ready and able to move us forward.
Wishing the very best to all of you.
Love, Judy
