In 2006 Patty Wipfler from Hand In Hand Parenting visited our school to lead a special seminar focused on parent-teacher communication and building empathy and compassion with parents. — Judy Accardi and Patty Wipfler

The acclaimed educator, lecturer and author Alfie Kohn visited Play Mountain Place in 2012. We feel some kinship with Alfie’s work, and have his books and DVDs in our Parent Library, so that parents can get to know his work better.

Play Mountain Place is a part of a much larger movement in education, the “education revolution.” Our commitment to make student-centered education available here in Los Angeles is echoed around the world. We are also committed to our work to help parents parent peacefully. We often host people from our larger community, and sometimes, we travel to other schools and conferences that share our commitment.
